Memorial Biography

Born on December 18, 1961 in Van Nuys, California, George was the son of the late George Marvin Couch, Jr. and the late Josephine Mary Ann Sorge Couch. He was a loving brother to three sisters: Debra, Yvonne and Joann. George graduated from John H. Francis Polytechnic Senior High School in Sun Valley, California in 1979. He went on to enjoy a life of hard work from his first job as a kitchen hand in his aunt’s restaurant, to learning the trade of sheet metal from his stepfather Cecil. George would go on to excel in his career as a sheet metal worker. He worked at the most northern part of the United States on the North Slope (CH2M Hill) to the oil boom of 2010 to 2015 in North Dakota (Delta Constructors). A few of his most memorable accomplishments include art sculptures at Native Corporations in Alaska and working on mansions in southern California, Rod Stewarts mansion being one of the most famous. George was blessed with five children: Vincent (Vince) born in California with first wife Hope, Joseph (Joey) with girlfriend Jen in 1995, Abigail with second wife Veronica in 2006 and stepfather to Dakotah and Nicholle (Veronica’s children). Veronica and George would go on many adventures as they blended their family together, their love for each other was sweet to witness. His life and how he lived each day was such a blessing to others. He will not only be missed by his family but by his friends; many of whom are here today. George is survived by his wife of 14 years, Veronica. His children Vincent (Suary) of California, Joey (Melanie) of California, Dakotah Brown of Alaska, Nicholle Brown (Justin) of Alaska, and Abby of Wasilla Alaska; and grandchild Olivia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Debra Aquino, Yvonne Couch and Joann Cedillo.
